Sale causes stampede-like situation at Telangana mall as women thronged to buy sarees at Rs 10
The Report States That A Woman Lost Her 5 Tolas Of Gold Chain, Rs 6000 Cash, And A Debit Card.
Women thronged in large number to buy sarees priced at Rs 10 at a shopping mall in Siddipet of Telangana creating a stampede-like situation. Women and girls rushed to avail of the Rs 10 sarees, being offered by the CMR shopping mall and as word spread the number of customers began to swell creating a stampede, police said.
According to the reports, several people were injured in the incident. The report further adds that a woman lost her 5 tolas of gold chain, Rs 6000 cash, and a debit card. After the theft, the local police reached the CMR shopping mall and has launched an investigation into the matter.
Talking to The News Minute, S Anjaneyulu, Siddipet I town inspector, said, “The stampede started after a woman fell from a narrow ramp that leads to the main store entrance. Three other women fell over her, this created panic and a stampede like situation. The shopping mall staff did not anticipate the crowd, they were ill-prepared. We have booked a case of negligence against the shopping mall manager.”
