A Samajwadi Party worker was shot dead allegedly by unidentified persons in Bharat Chapra village in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia, police said.Sri Krishna Yadav (58), considered close to local SP MLA Jai Prakash Anchal, was returning home from Raniganj township late last night when he was shot dead by the assailants at the village under Bariya police station, they said.Yadav had contested the election to the post of Pradhan thrice, police said, adding that the body has been sent for post mortem and investigations are on.
