Supreme Court on Monday admitted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s plea against Delhi High Court’s decision for Lieutenant Governor’s supremacy over elected government in National Capital Territory. The apex court will hear Kejriwal’s plea on September 9. Aam Adami Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has argued that as an enelected Chief Minister he is the boss in Delhi, not the Centre appointed Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung. Last month, Delhi HC ruled against his assumption stating that because Delhi is a union territory, the final say in the administration of the capital lies with LG Jung. The Chief Minister's lawyer requested the top court to hear the case urgently because it claimed that senior bureaucrats are choosing to report to the Lieutenant Governor instead of the Delhi government.Kejriwal has regularly alleged that his work is impeded consistantly by the national government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who seeks back-door control of the capital and exercises it by misusing agencies like the Delhi Police, which report to the centre and not the state.
