Setback for Nitish! 4 rebel JD-U MLAs join BJP in Bihar
In A Setback To Nitish Kumar Government In Bihar, Four Janata Dal-United (JD-U) Legislators On Wednesday Joined The Bharatiya Janata Party In Patna On Wednesday.
In a setback to Nitish Kumar government in Bihar, four Janata Dal-United (JD-U) legislators on Wednesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in Patna on Wednesday.
Interestingly, they are the same legislators who were suspended from the party for six years for involvement in "anti-party activities".
The legislators- Gayanendra Singh Gayanu, Rajeshwar Raj, Dinesh Kushwaha and Suresh Chanchal- , joined BJP in the presence of Union minister Rajeev Pratap Rudy and state party president Mangal Pandey.
According to party leader Sanjay Mayunkh, “The four legislators have joined the BJP."
Shockingly, Gayanendra Singh was considered close to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar before he revolted against him last year.
BJP later claimed that more JD-U legislators are expected to join the party ahead of the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Bihar polls is set to be another high-pitched battle between a resurgent BJP and a secular Grand Alliance formed by the JD-U, the RJD the Congress and others.
