A 10-year Old Girl, Who Got Separated From Her Relatives In The Flood-ravaged Kedarnath, Has Now Been Reunited With Her Parents, Thanks To A Stranger.
A 10-year old girl, who got separated from her relatives in the flood-ravaged Kedarnath, has now been reunited with her parents, thanks to a stranger.Shivani Gupta had gone to Kedarnath with her uncle and aunt, who are still missing. On June 17, she was found by a Gwalior-based lawyer Mrityunjay Goswami and his family took her to their home after informing a relief camp in Uttarakhand.Goswami then began tracing her parents through his network of lawyers. Within a few days, the girl was back home with her parents in Kanpur."My uncle was making me wear a raincoat when the rains came and ravaged the room. Later, I found myself besides an uncle. He was the one who took care of me. I got my family's contact number with the help of the lawyers he contacted in Kanpur and was reunited," Shivani said.Thousands still remain missing in the northern state despite mammoth rescue efforts by the security forces. Torrential rains hit Uttarakhand early and triggered massive landslide and floods, claiming hundreds of lives.
