Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar, the two legendary cricket players, met Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday. The two Cricket icons met Thackeray at his residence 'Matoshree' in suburban Bandra. According to a report of PTI, the meeting with Uddhav Thackeray was a "courtesy call" by the two batting legends.
It is worth mentioning here that Uddhav Thackeray was sworn in as chief minister on November 28, after Shiv Sena formed an alliance with the NCP and Congress to form the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government. For the oath-taking ceremony, Uddhav Thackeray had invited Sachin Tendulkar.
Shiv Sena fought the Maharashtra Assembly polls in alliance with the BJP. However, it parted ways with the BJP after the elections results over the issue of sharing the chief ministerial post. The Sena later got into an alliance with ideological rivals Congress and NCP to form the MVA government.

Uddhav is the first member from the Thackeray family to become the chief minister and the third Shiv Sena leader to hold the top post. With the swearing-in of 59-year-old Thackeray, Maharashtra has a chief minister from the Sena after 20 years. The last Sena man to occupy the chief minister's chair was Narayan Rane in 1999, after Manohar Joshi, who in 1995 became the first CM from the party.
