Tamil Nadu chief Minister E Palaniswami on Sunday met farmers protesting at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi. Addressing the media from the protest site, Palaniswami assured farmers that he will take up the issue with Priem Minister Narendra Modi.
"I will take up with PM the demands put forward by the farmers. Urge the farmers to end this protest," Tamil Nadu CM said on Sunday.
Tamil Nadu farmers have been protesting in dramatic fashion at Jantar Mantar to demand loan waiver for farmers from the state.
"Want immediate loan waiver for farmers, recently UP Govt also waived off farmer loans,w e also want it," Ayyakanu, leader of the protest said after meeting the chief minister.
The farmers have been demanding to meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to put forth their demands.
"TN CM has promised us that he will ensure our meeting with PM, till then we will continue our protest," Ayyakanu said.
