Teenage girl harassed by fellow students in Muzaffarnagar, FIR registered

A 16-year-old girl student was allegedly harassed by her three collegemates in Miranpur town here, police said today. The girl, a Class XII student, was yesterday returning from the college when three persons on a bike started harassing her which she opposed, SHO Chanderkiran Yadav said.
On the basis of a complaint filed by the girl's brother, an FIR was registered against accused Shahrukh and Shoaib who were arrested while their accomplice is absconding, he said. Security has been tightened in the area and search is on for absconding accused, the SHO added.
In a separate incident, a 27-year-old woman was yesterday injured when she opposed a rape attempt by two youths at Akbarpur Suneri village in Shamli district, police said.
The woman was sleeping in her house alone when the two accused barged in and tried to rape her. She got injured while resisting their attempt, police said, adding, she has been admitted to a hospital while search is on for absconding accused.
