The Thane Court On Tuesday Extended Police Custody Of Dawood Ibrahim’s Brother Iqbal Kaskar And Two Other Accused Till October 14th In Extortion Case.
The Thane court on Tuesday extended police custody of Dawood Ibrahim’s brother Iqbal Kaskar and two other accused till October 14th in extortion case.
Earlier, the court had sent Kaskar and two others till October 13th. He was arrested by the crime branch of Thane Police on September 18.
Dawood Ibrahim’s close aide Chhota Shakeel was behind the extortion racket and he has also been named as an accused and is wanted in connection with the case, a police official said.
The police official, while speaking on condition of anonymity, said, “Shakeel called builders and businessmen for extortion. He has been named as a wanted accused along with four others in connection with the extortion case.”
Kaskar is accused of issuing threats by using the name of his brother Dawood Ibrahim. He is charged for demanding extortion money from businessmen.
Thane police team arrested Iqbal Kaskar for running an extortion racket against builders, land owners, businessmen as well as jewellers.
