Baba Hardev Singh, leader of the Nirankari sect or Sant Nirankari Mission, passed away on Friday when his car met with an accident in Montreal, Canada. Baba Hardev Singh was born in Delhi on February 23, 1954 He did his schooling from Rosary Public School, Sant Nirankari Colony, Delhi He studied at the Delhi University post schooling Baba Hardev Singh joined the Nirankari Sewa Dal in 1971 as its primary member In 1975, he got married to Savinder Kaur during the annual Nirankari Sant Samagam in Delhi After the assassination of his father in 1980 when he was the head of the Nirankari sect, Baba Hardev Singh succeeded as the leader or "Satguru" of the sect. Baba Buta Singh established Sant Nirankari Mission in 1929.
