Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday hit out at Nitish Kumar for joining hands with “dictatorial” BJP in Bihar by forging an alliance. Kharge said the grand alliance of JDU-RJD and Congress was formed to fight BJP’s attitude of “killing democracy.”
“The grand alliance was formed to bring secular forces together, to fight the dictatorial attitude of the BJP, its attitude of killing democracy,” Kharge told reporters outside Parliament.
He accused Nitish of deceiving people of Bihar by embracing BJP as he sought votes in the name of secularism and against the saffron party.
“This is unfortunate,” Kharge added.
Kharge on Nitish’s corruption excuse said when he formed the government in Bihar he was aware of his partners, therefore, the reason he gave for breaking alliance is not well enough.
“You formed the government in Bihar fully aware of how the grand alliance partners are. You should not have broken the alliance in such a case,” he added.
Nitish Kumar on Wednesday parted ways with RJD and resigned as Chief Minister of Bihar only to take oath again on Thursday morning with the support of BJP.
