UP: Illegal arms factory busted in Kanpur; three held
An Illegal Arms Manufacturing Unit In Maharajpur Area In Kanpur Was Busted And Three Persons, Including Two Brothers, Were Arrested, Police Said On Monday.
An illegal arms manufacturing unit in Maharajpur area in Kanpur was busted and three persons, including two brothers, were arrested, police said on Monday.
Four countrymade pistols, around half a dozen semi-finished revolvers and equipment used to make those have been seized, they said.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided a house on the bank of Pandu river on Sunday, where the illegal arms manufacturing unit was being run, and arrested two brothers, Rajesh and Rajol, along with a worker, Heeralal, a police spokesperson said.
During the interrogation, the accused confessed to supplying these countrymade arms in the nearby areas of Kanpur, the spokesperson said.
Police is also collecting information about the buyers of these arms and the investigation is on.
