Director General Military Operation Lt Gen Ranbir Singh On Monday Said That Indian Army Reserves The Right To Respond To Any Act Of The Adversary At The Time And Place Of Our Own Choosing.
Director General Military Operation Lt Gen Ranbir Singh on Monday said that Indian Army reserves the right to respond to any act of the adversary at the time and place of our own choosing. Indicating at a strike back at a time and place army’s choice, DGMO declared that a reaction to the violence in Uri attack is well within the ambit of the army. “We have the desired capability to reply to such blatant act of violence in a manner as deemed appropriate by us,” he said while addressing media in New Delhi.Singh revealed that infiltrations bids have increased significantly in 2016 as compared to past three to four years.
“During 2016, there have been a total of 17 infiltration bids across the LoC, which have been successfully eliminated by Indian Army... Of a total of 110 terrorists killed during various operations this year, 31 were killed while they were attempting to cross the LoC,” he said.
Giving out the details of investigations into the Uri terror attak, which killed 18 soldiers on Sunday, DGMO shared the list of objects recovered from dead terrorists:
Four AK47 rifles Four grenade launchers Four under barrel grenade launchersLarge quantity of food and medicine packets, having markings of Pakistan Thirty-nine under barrel grenade launcher grenades Five hand grenades Two radio sets Two global positioning systems Two map sheets Two metric sheetsOperation has been called off this evening, complete area has been cleared, DGMO said.
