He Said As Per The Direction Of Railway Minister, Stern Action Will Be Taken Against Those Who Found Prima Facie Guilty In The Incident.
Mohammad Jamshed, Member, Traffic Railway Board on Sunday informed that 20 people were killed and 92 people injured in Haridwar-Puri Utkal Express accident in Khatauli near Muzaffarnagar district on Saturday evening. He said a case has been registered against unknown persons under various sections including 304 A of IPC (death due to negligence) in the matter.
"Railway Commissioner (Safety) will also find out whether laid down rules were followed or not," he said.
The Commissioner Railway Safety, the Northern circle will begin an enquiry from Monday, he said.
While addressing a press conference, he dubbed the train mishap as unfortunate and informed that 13 bogies got derailed in the incident.
He said as per the direction of Railway minister Suresh Prabhu, stern action will be taken against those who found prima facie guilty in the incident.
Mohammed Jamshed said traffic on the line will be restored around 10 pm.
