Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday celebrated the festival of Guru Purnima at Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur.
Adityanath offered prayer to teachers seeking their blessings on the pious occasion of Guru Purnima.
Guru Purnima is an Indian festival, dedicated to spiritual gurus and academic teachers. As the name suggests, Guru Purnima means 'guru ki puja'.
Yogi Adityanath is the present Mahant of the Gorakhnath mutt. Gorakhnath is believed to be the incarnation of Lord Shiva.
This year, NASA has tweeted about Guru Purnima, thereby, creating more awareness among the people about Guru Purnima and adding up to the celebrations.
