A 24-year-old man claiming to be the nephew of Samajwadi Party lawmaker slapped a police officer in Uttar Pradesh’s Etah.

In the video of ANI, a man was brought to the police station where he slapped a sub-inspector shouting “my name is Mohit Yadav and he (police officer) misbehaved with me.”

“It seems he was under the influence of alcohol,” a senior police officer was quoted as saying by NDTV.

According to media reports, Mohit Yadav is the nephew of Ramesh Yadav, a senior Samajwadi Party leader and MLC. Mohit’s father runs a gun shop.

Yadav had on Wednesday morning visited a hospital and demanded VIP treatment for an x-ray but refused. After that Yadav lost his cool and beat up hospital staff and a doctor.

The police were called by the hospital who later took Mohit to the police station where he assaulted an officer.
