Gorakhpur tragedy accused Kafeel Khan's brother shot at near CM residence
Miscreants on Sunday night shot at the brother of Dr Kafeel Khan, an accused in the Gorakhpur's BRD Medical College case in which as many as 63 children died due to disruption of oxygen.
Thirty-four-year-old Kashif Jameel was in Humayunpur north area near the JP hospital where some bike-borne miscreants opened fire at him around 11 pm.
"He is recovering now. A case has not been registered yet as police are waiting for his health to improve so he can tell what actually happened. He was shot at just 500 meters away from CM residence, last night," ANI quoted Kafeel Khan as saying.
Jameel was rushed to nearby hospital where his condition was stated to stable.
"He is undergoing treatment at a private hospital where his condition is stated to be stable. No complaint has been given so far," PTI quoted Kotwali police station Inspector Ghanshyam Tiwari as saying.
