Uttarakhand: 2 dead, several feared trapped after cloudburst in Chamoli

At least two people died and five others were feared to be trapped after a cloudburst between Bhapkund and Jumma in Malari of Uttrakhand’s Chamoli district on Friday.
The cloudburst led to a landslide that caused the deaths.
The deceased and trapped are workers of the Border Roads Organisation, as per reports.
Police and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) including a communication team have been sent to the area for rescue operations.
Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat expressed his solace and has ordered the administration to speed up the rescue operation.
A 36-hour heavy rains alert was issued on Thursday in Uttarakhand.
