Communal tension gripped Garhwal district's Satpuli town in Uttarakhand as clashes broke out between two groups over a social media post. The upheaval was caused in the town after a minor boy allegedly posted an 'offensive' picture of the Kedarnath shrine on Facebook.

As the tension spread, some organisations allegedly vandalised a vegetable shop belonging to the family of the boy. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and District Magistrate (DM) rushed to the spot in order to control the situation. Reinforcements were also sent from nearby Kotdwar city and district headquarter Pauri as the police said that they have zeroed in on the minor boy who is accused of sharing the post.
