The Supreme Court on Wednesday granted time till May 6 to the Centre to appraise it about the feasibility of holding floor test in Uttarakhand Assembly. Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi told the apex court that he has conveyed the suggestion to hold floor test in Uttarakhand to the Centre but has not received any instruction so far.
Rohatgi told the apex court that Centre is seriously considering court's suggestion to hold floor test in the state. “We have no objection if government accepts the court’s suggestion,” said the counsel for sacked Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat.
“SC has made it clear that even if the floor test is to take place, it will not mean the restoration of status quo ante,” Rohatgi said.
