Former Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu Will File Nominations For The Post Of Vice President Of India At 11 AM On Tuesday. Naidu Resigned From His Posts As Minister Of Information And Broadcasting, And Housing And Urban Affairs On Monday.
Former Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu will file nominations for the post of Vice President of India at 11 AM on Tuesday. Naidu resigned from his posts as Minister of Information and Broadcasting, and Housing and Urban Affairs on Monday. Two sets of nomination will be filled from NDA vice presidential candidate Naidu.In the first set of nomination, PM Modi will be the proposer and Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be the seconder. In the second set Finance minister Arun Jaitley will be the proposer and MEA Sushma Swaraj will be the seconded. Naidu was picked as the National Democratic Alliance’s candidate for the vice presidential election with consensus at the BJP Parliamentary board meeting held on Monday. NDA allies were also present.
Naidu, 68, has had a long experience in public life as he served twice as BJP president and four-time Rajya Sabha MP.
Opposition's candidate Gopalkrishna Gandhi will also file his nomination for the vice presidential elections on Tuesday.
