The effect of new Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's strict orders for law and order have started showing. A day after receiving strict orders to ensure the safety of women across the state directly from DGP, the Lucknow Police on Tuesday cracked down on roadside romeos in Hajratganj area. Police's special Anti-Romeo squad arrested at least three people for eve-teasing related activities outside National PG College. Anti-Romeo squad, which carried out the mission included senior police officials, including a female inspector.Incidentally, the squad also mistakenly stopped a brother-sister duo. The two had to produce proof of family before they were allowed to leave. However, the police officer explained that the exercise was only meant to protect women. Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police Javeed Ahmad, on directions of CM Yogi Adityanath, on Monday had directed police stations and district administrations to ensure zero tolerance for crime against women.
