West Bengal: BJP leader Shaktipada Sardar hacked to death, party accuses TMC 'goons'
Shaktipada Sardar, aged 45, the secretary of BJP Mandal Committee of Mandira Bazar-Dhanurhat region was hacked to death as he was returning home on Friday night in Mandir Bazar area of the district, police said on Saturday.
The miscreants are yet to be identified and police have started an investigation into the matter.
The unidentified miscreants attacked Sardar with a sharp weapon and left him bleeding on the middle of the road, the said.
He was rushed to Diamond Harbour Hospital after local people found him lying.
The hospital referred Sardar to a Kolkata city hospital after his condition deteriorated.
However, he died while on the way to the Kolkata hospital to which he was referred, they said.
Meanwhile, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have alleged that the Trinamool Congrees (TMC) goons are behind the killing of Sardar.
However, TMC have denied the allegations.Â
