West Bengal: Canal bridge in Siliguri's Phansidewa collapses, one injured
In another shocking incident, a canal bridge in Siliguri's Phansidewa of Darjeeling district collapsed on Friday morning. One truck driver has been injured in the bridge collapse while his truck, which was crossing the bridge, is still lurking from the broken portion of the canal bridge that connects Manganj area to Siliguri. as per PTI.Â
The truck driver has been rushed to the hospital, confirmed West Bengal Minister Rabindranath Ghosh.

On Thursday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had announced that at least 20 bridges in and around the city have been termed as ‘unsafe’ for daily commuting and had exceeded their expiry date.
Earlier, a 50-year-old Majerhat bridge in south Kolkata had collapsed killing three people in the incident.
On March 31, 2016 an under-construction flyover had collapsed in the Burrabazard area of Kolkata leaving 26 dead and several injured. While on March 4, 2013, a road bridge had collapsed in Ultadanga area, although no casualties were reported.Â
