Stray cattle are one of the major causes of road accidents during night time. But now, the Madhya Pradesh police has come up with an idea to solve this problem faced by commuters since long. The cops in Balaghat have taken a unique initiative as they have begun pasting radium stickers on the horns of cattle.
With the glow-in-the-dark bands, they hope that the drivers will spot the animal and avoid hitting it, thus evading an accident. The cops have so far stuck around 100 stickers on the head of the cattle over the last five days. The move has been taken in view of the accidents happening because of the cattle.
A few other districts have also used the idea but have not been much successful as the number of stray cattle is high, while the manpower to deploy for the process is less.
