A 23-year-old unauthorized women vendor was raped in a moving train when it was passing Bherkhera-Budni Ghat area under Bhopal railway division, a GRP official said on Sunday.
The incident occurred on Saturday inside the toilet of a sleeper coach of Amarkantak Express (Durg-Bhopal).
"The woman is an unauthorised vendor who sells popcorn on train," Habibganj Government Railway Police (GRP) incharge sub-inspector BL Sen said.
The accused has been identified as 25-year-old Jitu Malviya, a resident of Bhopal. He raped the victim on knifepoint.
However, the accused has not been arrested so far but a Zero FIR has been registered by the GRP.
"The woman reached Bhopal yesterday but returned to her home in Budhni last evening without lodging a complaint as the accused had threatened her of dire consequences," BL Sen said.
