A woman passenger was today caught by customs officials at Bengaluru airport while she was allegedly trying to smuggle over three kg gold.
“Konduru Tulasamma, a Hyderabad-based smuggler was caught at Bengaluru airport, in a joint operation of Hyderabad and Bengaluru Customs, with 3.2 kgs of gold,” a release from Hyderabad Customs said.
The woman was sitting on a wheelchair to escape the sleuths, it said, adding that she came by a flight from Dubai.
Further investigation is on, an official said.
