Woman caught by customs for smuggling 900 grams gold hiding in rectum at Delhi airport

A 53-year-old woman was arrested by customs officials for allegedly trying to smuggle into the country 900 grams gold by hiding it in her rectum, according to an official statement issued Tuesday. She was intercepted on her arrival from Bangkok on Monday.
"Her personal search resulted in recovery of two pieces of gold, crudely given a cylindrical shape, from her rectum, total weighing 900 grams, having market value of Rs 27.54 lakh," the statement issued by the customs said, adding that the passenger has been arrested and the gold seized.
She also admitted to have smuggled 700 grams gold valued at Rs 21.42 lakh in the past, it said.
