A group of women set a liquor shop on fire at Baraula on Tuesday while staging a protest demanding a ban on alcohol in Uttar Pradesh.
They also gheraoed the police station after some protesters were taken into custody.
Police later released those taken into custody.
A case has been registered, a police officer said.
