Yogi Adityanath, Maurya and Parrikar may not resign from Parliament till presidential poll
Parrikar Is Also Unlikely To Resign From Rajya Sabha Who Recently Took Charge As Chief Minister Of Goa.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who represent Gorakhpur and Phulpur Lok Sabha constituency respectively, may not tender their resignation from the Lower House until the presidential polls which would be held in July.
Manohar Parrikar is also unlikely to resign from Rajya Sabha who recently took charge as Chief Minister of Goa.
According to The Times of India reports, the newly appointed chief minister Yogi Adityanath and deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya will have to be elected within six months of their appointment.
The leaders will either have to contest a bypoll or they could represent legislative council as the state has dual House.
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath may contest the bypoll as Campierganj MLA Fateh Bahadur Singh, son of former UP chief minister Veer Bahadur Singh, has offered to vacate his seat for the chief minister.
Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma already resigned from te post of Lucknow Mayor.
