Youth Congress's Derogatory Tweet: Party issues apology, says page run by volunteers

After the Indian Youth Congress's online magazine Yuva Desh on Tuesday posted a ‘derogatory’ tweet targeting PM Narendra Modi, the party has got into damage control exercise.Â
Suraj Hegde, in-charge of Youth Congress issued an apology and condemned the act. “We condemn the act and apologise. We are trying to find out who is responsible for posting the tweet. The page is run by volunteers,†said Hegde.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala tweeted, “INC strongly disapproves & rejects such humour through memes. Differences in policy and opinion aside, Congress culture imbibes respect for the PM and all political opponents.â€
Youth Congress Chief Amrinder Singh Raja Brar said Yuva Desh handle is not run by Indian Youth Congress but by volunteers. Issuing an apology he said he strongly condemns the tweet.
