Many Districts In Tamil Nadu Have Declared Holiday For Schools And Colleges On Wednesday
Due to incessant rains, many districts in Tamil Nadu have declared holiday for schools and colleges on Wednesday, October 30. The district administrations of Madurai, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Theni, Ramanathapuram, Vellore and Virudhunagar have declared a one-day holiday for all government and private schools and colleges in the districts. Tamil Nadu is witnessing heavy rains as a well-marked low pressure area just off the Sri Lankan coast had intensified into a depression and moved towards the Kerala coast.
The depression is the second in the Arabian Sea of the North-East monsoon, after a predecessor went on to become supercyclone Kyarr, which is set to weaken off the coast of Oman in the Arabian Gulf. IMD, on Tuesday, had predicted heavy rainfall in the districts of Tamilnadu over the next 24 hours.
IMD has predicted moderate to heavy rainfall in specifically in Kanniyakumari, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Sivagangai, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Thiruvannamalai, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Vellore, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuram, Kanavipuram and Kanakipuram areas.
