Coronavirus Pandemic | Telangana Announces Up To 75 Per Cent Salary Cuts Amid COVID-19 Outbreak
Salaries And Pensions Of All Employees Of All Public Sector Corporations And Government Aided Organisations Will Also Be Deducted By 50 Per Cent.
With dwindling revenues because of the ongoing 21-day nationwide lockdown in view of the coronavirus outbreak in the state, the Telangana government on Monday decided to implement a pay cut for government employees and pensioners. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday said that there will be a 75 per cent cut on the salaries of the Chief Minister, state cabinet, MLCs, MLAs, State Corporation Chairpersons, and local bodies representatives in view of the financial state of Telangana. Similarly, there will be a 60 per cent of salary cut for All India Services officers such as IAS, IPS, and IFS.
“There will be 60 per cent salary cut for IAS, IPS, IFS and other such central services officers. For all other categories of employees, there will be a 50 per cent salary cut. For Class-IV, outsourcing & contract employees, there will be a 10 per cent salary cut,” Telangana Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said.

“For all categories of pensioners there will be a 50 per cent cut. For Class-IV retired employees there will be a 10 per cent cut. For all the PSUs, Institutions that are receiving govt grants employees, like the government employees and retirees, there will be cut in their salaries,” the CMO office said.
Salaries and pensions of all Employees of all public sector corporations and government aided organisations will also be deducted by 50 per cent. The release did not clarify when the dues will be paid.

Condemning the pay cut, the Telangana BJP, in a statement, said it was a hasty decision. "BJP feels it is an extreme measure and unwarranted," the party said in a release.
