A 27-year-old Social Democratic Party of India activist from Kerala, Abdul Manaf, who was fighting with the Islamic State in Syria has reportedly been killed.
According to reports, Manaf was killed in November 2017, but his parents were informed on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.
A friend of Manaf's called his parents in Kannur to convey the news of his demise but news agency PTI reports that they received the news via messaging app Telegram.

About 15 persons from Kannur district have joined the terrorist outfit over a period of time. Of them, six, including Manaf, have been killed in Syria while another five were arrested and handed over to NIA for investigation, Sadanandan said, adding, the remaining four are in Syria fighting for the ISIS.
