Massive 7.1-magnitude earthquake hits Peru-Brazil border

A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck along Peru’s border with Brazil on Friday nearly 250 km northwest of Puerto Maldonado at a depth of 609 km, the US Geological Survey said.
No immediate damage was reported, however, social media users said that tremors were felt across the country. Two strong shocks struck a Peruvian town, northwest of the epicenter, as per the reports.
Meanwhile, no tsunami warning has been issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
