The Letter Of The Complaint, Dated August 22, Stated That Despite Several Bilateral Efforts, Pakistani Military Forces Continue To Violate Afghan Territory.
Afghanistan has moved the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) against Pakistan over the continuous shelling by the country's troops in various border areas, seeking necessary measures against Islamabad. The letter of the complaint, dated August 22, stated that despite several bilateral efforts, Pakistani military forces continue to violate Afghan territory.
In the most recent violations that took place on August 19 and 20, Pakistani troops fired over 200 rockets into Shiltan district of Kunar province.
"These attacks have resulted in the destruction of residential property and displacement of local population, which has suffered greatly as a result of the latest violations," it stated.
Afghanistan also accused Pakistan of violating the principles of UN Charter, including Article 2, as well as international law and international humanitarian law.
"The Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan reiterates its call on the Security Council to take necessary measures and actions to bring about an end to the violations identified above," the letter read.
