A 26-year-old Indian national has been shot dead in Washington State, US. The victim, identified as Vikram Jaryal, had reached US only 25 days ago. The External Affairs Minister has revealed that attack was most likely an act of robbery.
EAM Sushma Swaraj revealed on Twitter that Jaryal went to US to work at a gas station of a family friend.
"I have received a report on the shootout incident resulting in the tragic death of Indian national Vikram Jaryal in Washington State USA. The victim was only 26 years old and had reached US only 25 days back. He was working at the gas station of a family friend," Swaraj tweeted.
This shootout happened in close proximity with a series of hate crimes against Indians in the United States.
