As coronavirus outbreak continues to wreak havoc worldwide, Chinese automaker BYD Co. has announced that it has become the world’s highest mask producer in less than a month in the world. Wang Chuanfu, who is the founder of BYD Co., built production lines from scratch using 90 per cent in-house components in a time of just two weeks’ time. He made it possible with a team of 3,000 engineers. However, the company has not clarified the type of masks they produce.
Amid coronavirus cases increasing day by day, the demand for masks and sanitizers has increased exponentially worldwide. However, due to the substantial increase in demands for masks and sanitizers, BYD Co. had built new production lines, reported News18. According to Wang Chuanfu, BYD Co. can produce five million masks and 3,00,000 bottles of disinfectants per day.
China increased the production of masks to 54.8 million units a day, reported the National Development and Reform Commission.
It is worth mentioning here that BYD started its business in China in 1995. BYD manufactures battery for smartphones, internal combustion, and hybrid cars.
Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, has expanded its footprint to over 100 countries and killed over 10,000 across the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) has recently declared it a pandemic.
