Trump condoles demise of Vietnam President
United States President Donald Trump on Saturday condoled the demise of Vietnam President Tran Dai Quang and described him as a "great friend of America". ALSO READ | Theresa May demands EU respect in Brexit ‘impasse’
Quang died on Friday at the age of 61 after a serious illness.
"It was with sadness that I learned of the passing of President Tran Dai Quang. On behalf of the American people, I express my condolences to his family and the people of Vietnam," Trump said. ALSO READ | Mozambique: Jihadi terror attack kills 12, injures 14 in Paqueue
He said, "President Quang was a great friend of the United States. He graciously hosted me during my historic state visit to Hanoi in November 2017, and I am grateful for his personal commitment to deepening the United States-Vietnam Comprehensive Partnership."
