Iran fires mortar shells in Pakistan, no casualties reported
The Ties Between Iran And Pakistan Deteriorated Recently After Ten Iranian Border Guards Were Killed At Mirjaveh On The Sistan-Baluchistan Border By The Pakistan-based Sunni Terror Outfit, Jaish Al-Adl Or The Army Of Justice.
Iran fired mortar shells in Balochistan’s Chaghai area on Sunday, Pakistani security officials said. However, no casualties were reported in the incident.
Pakistan and Iran share a 900 km long porous border and in 2014 both the countries decided to increase intelligence coordination to elminate terrorists from the border region.
Work on the Rs 20 million Pakistan Gate in Taftan along the Pak-Iran border was completed in 2016. The ties between the two neighbours deteriorated recently after ten Iranian border guards were killed at Mirjaveh on the Sistan-Baluchistan border by the Pakistan-based Sunni terror outfit, Jaish al-Adl or "The Army of Justice".

Iranian police claimed that the guards were killed by long-range guns and aksed Islamabad to assume ultimate responsibility for the crime. The Sistan-Baluchistan province in south-east Iran has long been plagued by drug smuggling gangs and separatist militants.
