IS Khorasan Chief Aslam Farooqui, Mastermind Of Kabul Gurudwara Attack, Arrested: Reports

In a special operation, the chief of Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP), Aslam Farooqui was arrested by the Afghan security forces on Saturday. The Afghan Intel Agency National Directorate of Security (NDS) in a release confirmed that the arrest of the emir of IS Khorasan as he said, "Aslam Farooqi had links with Pakistan based terror networks like Lashkar and Haqqani." Moreover, Farooqui has been arrested over the charges of orchestrating the attack on Gurudwara in Aghanistan's capital Kabul on March 25.
Along with the ISKP chief, four Pakistani nationals and ISIS members - Masoudullah from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khan Mohammad from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Salman from Karachi, and Ali Mohammad from Islamabad were also nabbed, reports news agency ANI quoting sources.
On March 25, heavily armed gunmen and suicide bombers stormed a Sikh Gurudwara in Kabul killing 32 people. Ministry of External Affairs had condemned the attack saying, "India strongly condemns the heinous terrorist attack at the event commemorating Shaheed Mazari in Kabul today, where a number of senior political leaders were present. We express heartfelt condolences to the relatives of the deceased and the injured and to the Government and people of Afghanistan."

Moreover, the attack had come a day after the United States had announced that it would cut its aid to the Afghani government by USD 1 Billion as the political leadership in the country had failed to reach an agreement and with no formation of team to negotiate with Taliban.
The US has been seeking to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan. It also reached a deal with the Taliban militant group that is supposed to bring peace in the country.
Afghanistan is currently witnessing a political stalemate as two of its top politicians- Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah - both claim victory in the presidential election.
