An explosion was heard at a London Underground station triggering panic among the passengers, reports said on Tuesday. Witnesses said that they heard a 'small scale explosion' in a bag at Tower Hill station on Tuesday, leading to 'panic and stampede,' Metro reported.
The explosion occured on a District Line train which was heading towards Ealing Broadway from east London, reports said. The explosion reportedly took place due to a battery pack. Around 5 people suffered minor injuries.
A spokesman for British Transport Police told Metro.co.uk: "We are currently on the scene alongside the London Fire Brigade, after responding to a fire alert on the District Line."
