The mercury breached 41 degree mark at Una and rose to 41.6 degree while Sundernagar and Kangra recorded a high Of 38.1 degrees and 37.7 degrees, two to three degrees above normal while Nahan recorded a maximum of 36.2 degrees,followed by Bhuntar 34.2 deg, Solan 33.5 degrees, Dharamshala 31.4 deg, Shimla 27.5 deg and Kalpa 24.8 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperatures also rose marginally and Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti district was coldest in the region with a low of 3.2 deg, followed by Manali 5.6 deg, Kalpa 7.4 deg, Bhuntar 10.9 deg, Sundernagar 14.6 deg, Solan 15.2 deg, Dharamsala 15.8 deg, Shimla 17.3 deg and Una 19.0 degrees.
Some relief from scorching heat is likely in next few days as the local MeT office has predicted rains/thunderstorm /snow at isolated places in mid and higher hills for five days from May 3 onwards.
