Pakistan Air Force Mirage Crashes Minutes After Takeoff From Shorkot Air Base
A Mirage combat jet of the Pakistan Air Force crashed minutes after takeoff from the Shorkot Air base in Punjab province on Friday. According to the latest reports, the pilot ejected safely and no loss of property was reported from the air base that is located nearly 100 km away from Multan. It was a routine sortie. Pakistani media reports say that a board of inquiry has been ordered by the Pakistan Air Force Headquarters to determine the exact reason of the crash. According to a Dawn report, a similar crash was reported last month. A PAF aircraft crashed while it was on a routine training mission crashed near Mianwali. In that crash, both pilots aboard the PAF FT-7 aircraft lost their lives. They were identified as Squadron Leader Haris bin Khalid and Flying Officer Ibaadur Rehman.
