Revolutionary leader and former Cuban President Fidel Castro is no more. The Cuban revolutionary icon Fidel Castro took his last breath in Havana. He was 90.
His brother and Cuba President Raul Castro announced the news on national television.
Fidel Castro served the country as Prime Minister from 1959 to 1976 and then as President from 1976 to 2008.
"The commander in chief of the Cuban revolution died at 22:29 hours on (Friday) evening," the president announced on national television.
Castro was mainly been responsible for converting Cuba into a one-party socialist state under Communist Party rule.
