Rupert Murdoch owned 21st Century Fox may soon takeover Sky which has a total value of £18.5bn. According to Reuters’ calculations, Fox will pay £11.25bn for the stake it does not own.
21st Century Fox already owns 39.1% stake in Sky. In June 2010, Rupert Murdoch had attempted to take over Sky but the proposal was rejected by Sky’s director.
US Giant has proposed an offer of £10.75 and a premium of 36% to the closing price on 8 December. The speculations of US media company making a bid for the stake in Sky surged when James Murdoch was named the chairman.
