Russian military IL-20 jet with 14 servicemen aboard vanishes from radar off near Khmeimim Air Base in Syria

A Russian IL-20 jet with 14 servicemen aboard disappeared from the radar off Syria, Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on early Tuesday.
The Russian jet vanished off the radar while on its way back to the Khmeimim Air Base in Syria, the statement added.

The Russian IL-20 aircraft vanished during an attack by four Israeli Air Force around Syria’s Latakia province. A search and rescue operation has been organised.
Syria is yet to comment on its involvement in the incident.
Information on the 14 Russian servicemen aboard is awaited, it added.
