As technology attains advancement upgrades, drones are becoming an important tool for the big companies for serving orders to their customers.
Not only Obama made the best use of drone tools to combat terror operations but now other companies are also going pro for it.
A US-based drone delivery service has successfully completed its first month in operation. Yes! The drone is used by company for sending over-the-counter medicines, hot food items and cold beverages to customers' homes using GPS-enabled autonomous flying vehicles.
Using a smartphone app through mobile phones, customers placed their order to the company, making successful weekend deliveries.
Just like the usual tracing details, this drone-based delivery system lists all items available for delivery, along with other important details like when the drone is arriving at their doorstep.
Once an order was placed, the merchandise including items such a hot and cold food and over-the-counter medicines were loaded into a drone delivery container and flown autonomously using precision GPS to a local customer's house.
On an average the drone takes less than ten minutes to deliver the orders at customer’s place. The company completed 77 autonomous drone deliveries to customer homes.
“This is a giant leap towards a future where everyone can experience the convenience of instant store-to-door drone delivery,” said Matthew Sweeny, CEO of the drone delivery service Flirtey.
Customers of all ages participated in the drone delivery system, citing speed and convenience as the most appealing aspects of deliveries.
