New Delhi:

The third test match between India and New Zealand, scheduled to be played in Indore from October 8-12, has come under a cloud after the Lodha Committee questioned the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding distribution of annual subsidies and other payments to various state associations.

Yes Bank and Bank of Maharashtra which operate BCCI’s accounts were also marked in an email sent by the Lodha committee to the cricket board.

Further, the Supreme Court appointed Lodha panel asked both the banks to not provide funds for financial decisions taken by the board at its special general meeting on September 30.

Sources have pointed out that both Bank of Maharashtra and Yes Bank responded to the Lodha committee directions and chose to freeze the BCCI’s accounts on Monday. The move has left the BCCI fuming and they claim that they are unable to pay the New Zealand board for the ongoing series. The Lodha committee’s directions have left the whole New Zealand series in jeopardy apart from putting the entire home season in doubt.
