Madras High Court on Thursday questioned the death of late Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa’s death. A sceptic judge raised doubts and asked why her body cannot be exhumed.
The court has asked for a complete health report. “Media has raised a lot of doubts, personally I also have doubts in Jayalalithaa's death,” Justice Vaidyanathan said on a petition asking for an investigation into the former Chief Minister's death. “When she was admitted to the hospital, it was said that she was on a proper diet. At least after her death now, the truth should be revealed,” the judge said.
After spending about two months in Apollo Hospital, Jayalalithaa breathed her last on December 5. The four-time Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was buried at Chennai's Marina Beach, near her mentor MG Ramachandran's memorial.
In the weeks before her death, criminal cases were filed against many for spreading rumours about her health.The late CM had suffered cardiac arrest hours after her party told media that she has fully recovered. Born in 1948, Jayalalithaa started her career as an actress in South Indian films.
